PT-MZ882BEJ Black
New LCD laser projectors with balanced color reproduction and brightness for seamless integration into corporate, education, and museum environments
Balanced image quality
Optimally coordinated brightness and color reproduction
The improved optical unit, with its harmonious interplay of high brightness and vibrant colors, ensures clear viewing even in brightly lit rooms. There's a suitable display mode for every content and projection surface, and dynamic optimization technologies continuously adjust the playback to the ambient conditions. This way, your audience can enjoy pleasant picture quality without having to turn off the room lights.
Flexible design for every space requirement
Unobtrusive housing
Thanks to their new, elegant housings, the projectors blend seamlessly into the room. The black recessed bases make the side and front panels appear slimmer. The unobtrusive design, quiet operation, and crisp content reproduction ensure that the projection (and not the projector) draws all eyes. The black models are ideal for discreet use in darker environments such as museums.
Reduced power consumption
The projectors consume around 20 percent less power than their predecessor models, so you can significantly improve your company's environmental footprint with each projector you add to your fleet.
Low-maintenance operation over 20,000 hours
Since the projector only requires maintenance after 20,000 hours of operation, you save time, money, and effort. The long-lasting laser light sources eliminate the need for annoying lamp disposal (which sometimes contain specific toxic substances) and reduce the need to keep inventory of consumables.
Less waste thanks to lamp-free design and eco-filter
Eco filters contain an electrostatic micro-cut filter that captures the finest dust particles. Combined with a dust-resistant projector housing, the Eco filter enables long-term use in dusty environments with less downtime. The filter needs to be replaced after approximately 20,000 hours. However, it is also easy to clean and reuse. And thanks to the projector's long-lasting laser light source, there's no need to worry about lamp disposal.
Environmentally conscious design with recycled materials
Lightweight, compact and environmentally friendly, the PT-MZ882 series offers remarkable efficiency improvements over its predecessor and has been holistically designed to reduce environmental impact, including the use of 10% recycled resins for the main projector unit.
Bright and sharp for comfortable viewing
Enjoy optimally balanced brightness and color for clear, well-saturated images in brightly lit rooms. With Dynamic Contrast, Daylight View Basic, and Detail Clarity Processor 4, the PT-MZ882 series enhances communication in offices, classrooms, and hybrid spaces.
Optimized workflow and smooth UX
Support for 21: 9 widescreen aspect ratios is ideal for conference layouts. A new tilt-detection feature and optional active lenses optimize installation, while three 4K signal and CEC-compatible HDMI inputs™ conveniently expand connectivity.
Environmentally conscious design with recycled materials

PT-MZ882 Series: Promoting environmentally friendly innovations
Sustainability is an important consideration for businesses and schools. Buyers want to invest in systems that contribute to the company's sustainability goals by choosing efficient AV technology that minimizes waste. The PT-MZ882 Series reduces the projector's impact throughout its entire lifecycle, from procurement and manufacturing to transportation, installation, use, and disposal. It represents a significant step toward sustainability without compromising performance. In fact, the image is brighter, operating noise is reduced, and usability is improved.
Projector housing made from recycled materials
The PT-MZ882 series' sustainability story begins even before delivery. In addition to using responsibly sourced materials, the projector's main body contains approximately 10% recycled resins, reducing the use of virgin materials. By supporting environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and pursuing recycling-based end-of-life programs, your company helps minimize environmental impact during operation and throughout the product's life cycle.
1 Based on the total weight of plastic parts in the projector main unit. Excludes projection lenses, circuit boards, labels, cables, connectors, electronic components, optical components, ESD components, EMI component adhesives, and coatings.
Improved brightness with lower consumption
Optimized optical unit results in higher brightness than any model in the previous series, while significantly improving energy efficiency. The PT-MZ882, for example, produces 8,200 lm at a maximum power consumption of 465 W, compared to 8,000 lm at 490 W for the previous PT-MZ880, achieving a performance of 17.6 lm/W and an 8% efficiency improvement. Save energy costs and reduce the carbon footprint of every unit in your fleet.
Note: Maximum consumption value in NORMAL mode at 100-120 V AC.
1 Measurement, measurement conditions and notation methods comply with international standards ISO/IEC 21118: 2020. The value is the average of all products at the time of shipment.
Auto-Power-On function saves otherwise wasted energy
Like your PC, Panasonic projectors "sleep" after a certain idle period, shutting down to save energy. If you want to resume playback after the quick start period, you must manually turn the projector back on. To avoid this, some users disable the quick start timer or leave the projector running with the shutter on, wasting energy. The PT-MZ882 Series solves the auto-power-on problem. This new feature turns the projector on and automatically resumes playback when an input signal is detected, even when the power is off. Presenters can pause and resume their program without significant interruption, and administrators realize energy savings in their schools or businesses.
Note: Settings cannot be made in the following cases: When [STANDBY MODE] is set to [ECO] or when [IN STANDBY MODE] in the [AUDIO SETTINGS] menu is set to [ON]. Auto Power On is supported when the input signal is via HDMI™ or COMPUTER IN terminals.
Lampless laser saves resources and waste
The PT-MZ882 Series features a SOLID SHINE laser light source that requires only 20,000 hours of maintenance. 1 In contrast, comparable lamp-based projectors require multiple lamp changes in a comparable period, resulting in increased maintenance costs, labor, downtime, and waste. Additionally, laser projectors start up faster and can be shut down via the room switch. They reach full brightness almost instantly, maintain a consistent and even image for longer, and are inherently more reliable than lamp-based designs.
1 At this point, the light output has decreased by approximately 50%. IEC62087: 2008 Broadcast Contents, NORMAL/QUIET mode, Picture mode [DYNAMIC], Dynamic Contrast [2], Temperature 30°C (86°F), Altitude 700 m (2,297 ft) with 0.15 mg/ m³ particulate matter in the air. Panasonic recommends inspection by your dealer after approximately 20,000 hours. The life of the light source may be reduced depending on the ambient conditions. Replacement of parts other than the light source and filter may be required in a shorter time. The estimated maintenance time varies depending on the environment.
Note: The light source replacement cycle is approximate and varies by model.
Less maintenance, less waste, less downtime
The ECO Filter incorporates a micro-cut filter that captures tiny dust particles using electrostatic action. Combined with the dust-tight projector housing design, the ECO Filter enables low maintenance and long-term use with less downtime. Filter replacement is recommended after 20,000 hours 1 when the projector is used in typical office and classroom environments. If the filter requires maintenance earlier, it can be washed and reused up to twice 2 , reducing waste, costs, and labor.
1 Filter change cycles (measured values) are displayed for environments with 0.15 mg/ m³ of particulate matter in the air. The filter change cycle varies depending on usage conditions and environment.
2 When washing the filter with water, please follow the procedures listed in the instruction manual. Replacement is recommended after it has been washed and reused twice, or if it is not sufficiently clean after washing.
Multi-Laser Drive Engine increases reliability
The multi-laser drive engine ensures stable projection even in the unlikely event of a light source issue. The PT-MZ882 series is equipped with multiple modules consisting of numerous laser diodes. If one of the elements fails, the failover circuit is activated, allowing projection to continue with minimal brightness reduction. This gives your presenters the security of working in the middle of a presentation without fear of equipment failure.
Bright and sharp for comfortable viewing
Excellent image quality in well-lit rooms
Office and classroom projectors are typically used with room lights on, so they require high brightness, strong contrast, and accurate color to produce a clearly visible image. The PT-MZ882 series features a refined optical engine that increases brightness output over the previous series, digital light control to optimize dynamic contrast performance, and Daylight View Basic to adapt image quality to the ambient light in the room. The result is balanced brightness and color with sharp and comfortable visibility, even in well-lit environments.
High dynamic contrast of 3,000,000:1 1
Input signals are analyzed frame by frame to adjust light output for the best contrast performance in every scene. Dynamic Contrast not only reproduces complex images containing a mix of dark and light tones, but is also more energy-efficient than previous technologies. The projector's high 3,000,000: 1 contrast ratio enhances detail in shadows with deeper blacks, brighter whites, and more natural skin tones for an enhanced sense of depth and definition.
1 Full on/full off when [PICTURE MODE] is set to [DYNAMIC] and [DYNAMIC CONTRAST] is set to [1] or [2]. Measurements, measurement conditions, and reporting methods conform to international standards under ISO/IEC 21118:2020. The value is the average of all products at the time of shipment.
Daylight View Basic: Brilliant in bright rooms
Daylight View Basic is a dynamic adjustment technology that enhances image clarity by highlighting details in dark areas of the image that are difficult to see in bright light. A sensor measures the ambient light in the room and optimizes sharpness, raster colors, contrast, and brightness for the best results based on the room lighting.

Detail Clarity Processor 4 improves detail definition
The unique image correction circuitry reproduces details more clearly and sharply. It analyzes the video signal frequencies in each scene and adjusts the optimal sharpness based on the information extracted from the signal. Compared to conventional image processing technology, this system reproduces images with an even more natural and deep rendering and also sharpens text edges for more comfortable readability.
Projects widescreen content
Widescreen conferencing software layouts can be output from a PC to a PT-MZ882 Series projector, allowing remote participants to appear at the bottom of the screen at eye level with those seated in the room, improving communication efficiency. This feature is also useful for projecting documents side by side or showing cinematic content. The PT-MZ882 Series supports signals in 1920 x 810 (21:9) or 1920 x 640 (27:9) formats.
Quiet operation increases engagement
In classes, meetings, and other events that frequently involve remote participants, projector noise shouldn't distract from the presentation. Quiet projection helps people focus, whether in the room or remotely. The PT-MZ882 Series features a quiet mode that enables whisper-quiet operation at 25 dB (A) , allowing these stylish projectors to blend unobtrusively into the background to focus attention on the presentation.
1 For the PT-MZ682 in QUIET mode. Operating noise levels are as follows: PT-MZ882: 34 dB (NORMAL/ECO mode), 26 dB (QUIET mode); PT-MZ782: 32 dB (NORMAL/ECO mode), 26 dB (QUIET mode); PT-MZ682: 32 dB (NORMAL/ECO mode), 25 dB (QUIET mode).
Optimized workflow and smooth UX

Built-in geometric adjustment functions
Geometric Adjustment is a set of integrated features that allow installers to correct distortion when images are projected at an angle or onto curved surfaces and irregular shapes. Correction extends to spherical, cylindrical, and complex screen shapes without the need for a connected PC. Maintaining aspect ratio and independent corner adjustment simplify correction. At the same time, the ability to save image adjustment data is useful whenever correction settings need to be deactivated and reapplied, and for saving work progress when creating an adjustment profile.
Compatible with Geometry Manager Pro software
Geo Pro simplifies the adjustment of geometries, blends, and color uniformity, optimizing your multi-screen calibration workflow. The software extends the built-in geometric and multi-screen adjustment features with a Free Grid feature that controls 4-corner adjustment, keystone correction, curved screen correction, and freeform image correction from a user-friendly interface. Software-based multi-screen calibration tools include color adjustment, brightness control, color uniformity, black level, and input signal adjustment.
Note: Visit PASS to register your projector and download the free Geometry Manager Pro software for Windows® . The PT-MZ882 Series does not support some Geometry Manager Pro software features.
Contrast Sync and Shutter Sync
Contrast Sync unifies the dynamic contrast values of multiple projectors connected via serial inputs/outputs. This feature increases image uniformity in a multi-screen system and reduces the visibility of edge blending for a seamless widescreen image. Shutter Sync synchronizes the shutter's on/off switching for immersive fade-in and fade-out effects.
Data cloning function
The data cloning feature allows users to copy settings and save adjustment values from a main projector to sub-projectors via LAN. This feature reduces the time and effort required to set up multiple projectors.
Note: The data cloning function is supported by models of the same series with the same resolution. Passwords, projector IDs, and network settings are excluded. Data can be copied to a maximum of 99 sub-projectors via LAN.
Easily display the projection angle
The PT-MZ882 series features a gyro sensor that detects changes in the projector's tilt and tilt angle and displays the information graphically in the OSD settings menu. Installers no longer need assistance checking the projection angle while aligning the device. They can view the graphic on the screen and adjust the projector angle before mounting the device.

Integrates into your 4K audiovisual system
The PT-MZ882 series accepts 4K input signals via HDMI™ and DIGITAL LINK connections. This is convenient if you want to distribute 4K content from a PC to multiple display endpoints with different screen resolutions. You don't need to manually re-encode the video content to adapt it to this projector series or use an external video converter, reducing system complexity.
Note: 4K input signals are converted to the projector's resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) during projection. YPBPR 4:2:0 format is only available for 4K/60p and 4K/50p signals input via DIGITAL LINK.
Three HDMI inputs™ support CEC commands
All three HDMI™ inputs are compatible with control signals sent via a CEC command component, allowing you to control the projector with limited control using the remote control of the compatible source device. When connected via HDMI™, the projector will wake up from standby mode and automatically start playback upon command from a CEC-compatible player, such as the optional PressIT Wireless Presentation System.
