Digital Zoom Extender with Digital Image Shift Function
The Digital Zoom Extender has evolved with a new Digital Image Shift function. Digital Image Shift offers a convenient workaround when it’s not possible to install the projector in the center of the screen due to ceiling lamps or air-conditioning vents, or in cases where the ceiling is too high. You can use the remote control to shift the image digitally 10% up or down, and 10% left or right, to fit your projection surface.
Digital Zoom Extender function allows you to maintain the same mounting position as your old projector, even if it is too far from the screen, saving construction work. It extends throw-distance beyond the optical zoom’s range, so the image is projected at the desired size onto your screen. What’s more, LMZ460 Series uses the same bracket and fixture bracket as the conventional lamp-based PT-LB426 Series, so if you are upgrading, you can just screw the new projector straight in.
Note: Resolution is decreased when Digital Zoom Extender and Image Shift are used. Some screen correction functions are not available when using this function, and the range of Corner Adjust is limited. Use of the same projector mounts may not be possible in all situations. Image size has been reduced to 80% when Digital Image Shift is enabled.

Designed for Stress-Free Life
Excellent picture-quality is just one benefit of laser projection. Both the light-source and ECO Filter are rated for about 20,000 hours* before replacement is recommended. Comparable lamp projectors would require between one and four lamp changes plus filter maintenance if operated for the same period. You don’t have to worry about disposing of spent lamps, and the ECO Filter can be washed and reused, saving waste. It’s easy to see how laser projection reduces running-costs and maintenance effort. And thanks to controlled brightness ramping of the light-source and consistent color reproduction, images stay clear and vivid for much longer.
* Around this time, light output will have declined to approximately 50 % of its original level ([PICTURE MODE]: [DYNAMIC], [DYNAMIC CONTRAST] set to [2], temperature 30 °C [86 °F], altitude 700 m [2,297 ft] with 0.15 mg/m3 of particulate matter). Estimated time until light output declines to 50% varies depending on environment. The filter can be washed and reused up to two times (see Operating Instructions for details). Filter cleaning cycle: 20,000 hours (under dust conditions of 0.08 mg/m3), 10,000 hours (under dust conditions of 0.15 mg/m3).
Dynamic Contrast Adds Depth and Realism
Dynamic Contrast analyzes the video signal frame-by-frame and digitally adjusts light-output to contrast requirements of each scene. It features situation-linking technology for greater realism when dark and bright scenes are frequently interchanged. In addition to precisely reproducing images containing a mixture of dark and bright hues, Dynamic Contrast is more energy-efficient than other technologies. High 3,000,000:1* contrast ratio delivers impressive detail definition in shadows and enhances text legibility for more comfortable viewing.
* Full On/Full Off, when [PICTURE MODE] is set to [DYNAMIC] and [DYNAMIC CONTRAST] is set to [1]. Measurements, measurement conditions, and documentation methods comply with international standards under ISO/IEC 21118:2020. Value is average of all products upon shipment.
